ReCAAP – 25% reduction in Asian piracy

The ReCAAP Information Sharing Centre posted its 2018 Annual Report. The report states that a total of 76 incidents of piracy and armed robbery against ships were reported in Asia in 2018, compared to 102 incidents reported in 2017, a 25% reduction. Canada – oil removed from sunken wreck

The Canadian Coast Guard issued a news release stating that 208.7 cubic meters of oil has been removed from the wreck of the bulker Manolis L. The vessel sank in 1985 in waters off Newfoundland and Labrador, where it lay dormant until it started leaking in 2013.
