DOJ – proposed OPA 90 consent decree
clip_image004 The Department of Justice (DOJ) issued a notice stating that a proposed consent decree has been lodged in court to settle claims of the United States for injuries to natural resources under the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA 90) against Bouchard Transportation Company caused by a 2003 oil spill in Buzzards Bay. IMO – comment re climate change
clip_image008 The IMO issued a statement by Secretary-General Kitack Lim challenging recent media reports questioning the transparent inclusive approach adopted by the IMO and its stakeholders in addressing the threat of climate change. The IMO effort to reduce harmful air emissions from ships engaged in international commerce spans decades and the agency seeks continual improvement. Madagascar – plague outbreak
