Gulf of St. Lawrence – speed reduction

Transport Canada issued a news release stating that, with immediate effect, vessels transiting the western Gulf of St. Lawrence may not exceed a speed of 10 knots in order to protect the critically endangered North Atlantic right whales which have become increasingly present in those waters.
