US & China – UUV returned

The Department of Defense (DOD) issued a news release stating that a Chinese's People's Liberation Army-Navy (PLAN) vessel returned a USN Ocean Glider unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) to the USS Mustin (DDG 89) in international waters near the location where it had been unlawfully seized. The US will continue to investigate the events and address them with the Chinese. CBP – Centers of Excellence and Expertise

The US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued an interim rule establishing its Centers of Excellence and Expertise as a permanent organizational component of the agency and transitioning certain trade functions to the Centers. The rule also amends the definition for port directors to distinguish their functions from those of the Center directors. The changes enter into effect on 19 January.
