Alaska – Exercise Arctic Chinook

The US Coast Guard issued a news release stating that Exercise Arctic Chinook has ended. The three-day exercise, involving the Coast Guard, the US Alaska Command, the Canadian Forces, the Alaska National Guard, and other federal, state, and local assets, simulated an international search and rescue response to a passenger ship casualty off Kotzebue. Australia – new SAR satellite tracking system operational

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) issued a media release stating that its Medium-altitude Earth Orbit Search and Rescue (MEOSAR) system for emergency distress beacon detection is now operational.
