Upper Mississippi – lock closed due to oil spill

The US Coast Guard issued a news release stating that Lock and Dam 25 on the Upper Mississippi River near St. Louis has been closed to navigation while crews respond to the release of an estimated 2,074 gallons of diesel. The oil was from the towing vessel Jerry Jarrett while it was transiting the lock. The incident is under investigation. (7/6/16) [http://www.uscgnews.com/go/doc/4007/2861502/].
