USCG – alert re fixed CO2 systems

The US Coast Guard issued a Safety Alert regarding fixed CO2 fire extinguishing systems. If the system is not maintained properly, it can inadvertently discharge. Owners and operators of vessels equipped with this system should ensure that appropriate vessel personnel receive adequate training to perform routine inspections and understand system operation; review and update system operating manuals; and post clear instructions for system emergency operation. USCG – hurricane contingency plans

I have again updated my list of US Coast Guard Hurricane & Heavy Weather Contingency Plans. Many of the Coast Guard Sectors have revised their contingency plans since last season.
