On January 28, the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs conducted its hearing on Lessons from the Mumbai Terrorist Attacks, Part II. Brian Jenkins, Rand Corporation, testified regarding the strategic planning of terrorists. Ashley Tellis, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, testified concerning the regional and global threat posed by Lashkar-e-Taiba (Let). Alan Orlob, Marriott International, testified concerning security measures at hotels. Michael Norton, Tishman Speyer, testified concerning security at commercial buildings. (1/28/09). -

RECAAP - Relatório Anual -
The Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia (ReCAAP) issued its Annual Report for 2008. The report shows that there has been a decrease in the total number of incidents of piracy and armed robbery against ships in Asia in 2008 compared to the previous four years (2004-2007). The decrease was most significant in the ports and anchorages of Indonesia and the port of Chittagong, Bangladesh. (1/28/09). Fonte: HK Law.
