USCG – vessels subject to North Korean sanctions

NOAA – giant manta ray listed as threatened

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) promulgated a final rule listing the giant manta ray as threatened under the Endangered Species Act. The rule enters into effect on 21 February. 83 Fed. Reg. 2916 (1/22/18) [https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2018-01-22/pdf/2018-01031.pdf].

House – hearing re offshore seismic research permitting

The Subcommittee on Water, Power & Oceans of the House Committee on Natural Resources conducted an oversight hearing, "Deficiencies in the Permitting Process for Offshore Seismic Research".
