EPA – transboundary hazardous waste shipment regulations The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a news release stating that it will be issuing regulations strengthening requirements related to shipping of hazardous waste for recycling between the United States and other countries. The changes will align US hazardous waste import/export/transit shipment regulations with the procedures of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). (12/28/09). Note: Although not specifically mentioned, it appears that these new requirements will apply to future exports of ships for recycling.
